If you have chosen to use machine-assisted therapy to treat your sleep disorder, you have two options available to you, Bi-level and CPAP machines. We can provide you with all necessary equipment and supplies for this type of therapy. Once you've decided to use this type of therapy, we will use compliance monitoring software and regular follow ups to track your progress. We will work with you to determine which machine is best for you.
Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy uses a machine to help individuals who have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) breathe more easily during sleep. The machine increases air pressure in your throat so that your airway doesn't collapse when you inhale. The CPAP device is used at home every night while you sleep.
The Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) machine is very similar in function and design to a CPAP machine (continuous positive airway pressure). Similar to a CPAP machine, A BiPAP machine is a non-invasive form of therapy for people who have sleep apnea. Both machines deliver pressurized air through a mask to your airways. The air pressure keeps your throat muscles from collapsing and reduces obstructions by acting as a splint.
Both CPAP and BiPAP machines allow you to breathe easily and regularly throughout the night. However, BiPAP has two pressure settings while CPAP has only one. This makes it an ideal option for those who have not been successful using a CPAP machine due to other health issues like heart or lung disease.
We will set you up with a machine and mask that is right for you. We will walk you through exactly how to use and maintain your new equipment. We will also provide you with the supplies you need for your machine.
